On 27 February 2026, Vidya Bhushan Kumar, Special Monitor of the National Human Rights Commission, carried out a comprehensive inspection of the Noida Authority area. The visit focused on assessing environmental initiatives, sanitation systems, and digital monitoring infrastructure implemented across the city. Officials presented detailed briefings on ongoing projects and future plans.

The inspection began at the Integrated Smart Traffic Management System in Sector 94, where discussions were held regarding air pollution control measures. Authorities informed that anti-smog guns and sprinklers are operated using treated water from sewage treatment plants, ensuring conservation of potable water. Emphasis was placed on strengthening data-driven air quality monitoring and ensuring timely response mechanisms.

Subsequently, the Command and Control Center was inspected. The integrated digital system monitors traffic management, sanitation services, public safety, and other civic operations in real time. The advanced monitoring framework was highlighted as a unique model within the state. The need to replicate a similar system in Greater Noida was emphasized to enhance urban governance efficiency.

The visit also included inspection of a BOT-based public toilet facility. The provision of clean and modern amenities free of charge for residents was reviewed positively. Instructions were given to maintain hygiene standards and ensure continuous service quality.

The newly developed Jungle Trail was examined next, where artistic animal sculptures created from recycled waste materials were observed. The initiative reflects a creative approach toward environmental awareness and sustainable waste utilization. The Wetland Park in Sector 54 was also inspected, with focus on biodiversity conservation and natural water retention systems contributing to ecological balance.

Further, the Biomethanization Plant in Sector 34 was reviewed. Officials explained the scientific processing of organic waste to generate biogas and other useful by-products. This initiative supports sustainable waste disposal while promoting renewable energy generation.

The inspection concluded at the Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling Plant in Sector 80. The facility processes debris into reusable construction materials, reducing environmental impact and minimizing dependence on natural resources.

Overall, the systems and processes presented during the inspection were reviewed positively. The integrated approach toward environmental protection, digital governance, and sustainable infrastructure development was noted as a progressive urban management model.
