Noida, February 24, 2026:

The Noida Authority carried out a large-scale anti-encroachment drive across several sectors and key roads in the city to ensure smooth traffic movement, reclaim public spaces, and improve civic infrastructure. The enforcement campaign targeted unauthorized street vendors, temporary stalls, and illegal roadside structures that had been occupying public land and contributing to congestion and inconvenience for residents and commuters.

According to officials, the rapid growth of roadside encroachments in recent months had led to frequent traffic disruptions and difficulties for pedestrians in several parts of the city. In response, the Authority intensified its enforcement measures to restore public roads and spaces to their intended use. Officials emphasized that removing unauthorized occupations is essential for maintaining orderly urban development, ensuring road safety, and improving accessibility for citizens.

The anti-encroachment operation was carried out by enforcement teams from Work Circle-1 to Work Circle-10 of the Noida Authority. Coordinated action was taken at multiple high-traffic locations, including Sector-6, DSC Road, Atta Market, and the 45-meter-wide road running parallel to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. These areas are among the city’s busiest commercial and transit corridors, where unauthorized stalls and structures had significantly narrowed road space and contributed to traffic congestion. Officials said the removal of encroachments from these locations would help restore normal traffic flow and improve road safety.

Enforcement teams also conducted action in Sector-63 and Sector-70, which are important industrial and commercial zones. Illegal roadside stalls and temporary structures in these areas had been obstructing vehicle movement and affecting business operations. The Authority further removed encroachments in Sector-120, Nayagaon Mandi, Sector-87, and Sector-85, where public roads and open spaces had been partially occupied by unauthorized vendors and structures. Officials noted that clearing these areas has helped restore road width and visibility, reducing the likelihood of accidents and improving overall traffic conditions.

The drive extended to internal connecting roads and village-linked routes, including the road between Sectors-133 and 134, the road between Sectors-129 and 132, and areas near Nagla-Nagli and Kondli village. These routes serve as important links between residential, industrial, and commercial areas and are frequently used by daily commuters, delivery vehicles, and emergency services. Encroachments in these areas had created bottlenecks and slowed transportation. Officials said the removal of illegal occupations would help ensure safer and more efficient movement along these corridors.

Authorities stated that the enforcement campaign was carried out in response to numerous complaints received from residents, industrial associations, and resident welfare organizations regarding illegal roadside vending and unauthorized occupation of public land. Many complaints highlighted problems such as blocked roads, reduced parking availability, and obstruction of public infrastructure. Taking these concerns seriously, the Noida Authority initiated targeted enforcement operations to address the issue and restore accessibility.

Officials emphasized that anti-encroachment drives are part of an ongoing and continuous process rather than a one-time exercise. Enforcement teams have been instructed to conduct regular inspections and take immediate action wherever unauthorized occupations are detected. The Authority aims to ensure that cleared areas remain free from encroachments and that public infrastructure continues to function effectively without obstruction.

The campaign is also part of broader efforts by the Noida Authority to improve urban mobility, strengthen civic infrastructure, and maintain organized public spaces. Officials noted that encroachment-free roads not only facilitate smoother traffic flow but also enable faster emergency response, improve sanitation conditions, and enhance the overall urban environment. As Noida continues to grow as a major urban and industrial center, maintaining clear and accessible infrastructure remains a key administrative priority.

The Authority has appealed to shopkeepers and street vendors to operate only from designated vending zones and avoid occupying public roads and footpaths. Officials warned that strict action will be taken against individuals or establishments found violating civic regulations, including removal of illegal structures, confiscation of materials, and penalties as per applicable rules.

Reaffirming its commitment to organized urban development, the Noida Authority stated that similar enforcement drives will continue across different sectors to prevent encroachments and ensure public convenience. The initiative aims to provide residents with safer roads, smoother traffic movement, and well-maintained public spaces while preserving the planned infrastructure of the city.
