The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida) carried out an extensive encroachment removal drive on 23 February 2026 as part of its ongoing initiative to ensure smooth traffic flow and maintain accessibility of public spaces within its jurisdiction. The action was undertaken with the objective of keeping roads and other public areas free from congestion and unauthorised occupation.
According to the Authority, the encroachment removal campaign forms part of a planned and continuous enforcement strategy aimed at addressing the issue of illegal vending activities and unauthorised structures along roadsides and public locations. The Authority stated that such drives are being conducted regularly to preserve public convenience and urban order.

The enforcement action conducted on 23 February 2026 was undertaken by encroachment removal teams operating across Work Circles 1 to 10 of the Noida Authority. During the drive, encroachments were cleared from several key locations across the city.
The areas where encroachments were removed include Sector-6, Sector-25, DSC Road, Sector-37, Road No. 6 near Sector-59 Metro Station, Sectors 57, 58, 59 and 60, Sector-120, Sector-85, Sector-138, Sector-87, Nayagaon Mandi, Kaint Road, Hosiery Complex, Phase-2 Mandi, Sector-127, Sector-167, and Village Kondli.
Officials stated that the removal operations primarily targeted unauthorised vendors, illegal roadside setups, and encroachments affecting pedestrian movement and vehicular traffic. The Authority emphasised that such measures are necessary to ensure that public infrastructure remains accessible and functional.

The Noida Authority noted that complaints regarding unauthorised vendors and encroachments are frequently received from various sources, including residents, public representatives, RWAs, industrial associations, and other stakeholders. In response to these concerns, the Authority has intensified enforcement actions to address the issue in a systematic manner.
“The encroachment removal drive is part of a broader commitment to maintaining urban discipline and ensuring public convenience,” the Authority stated. “Roads and public spaces must remain free from obstructions to facilitate smooth movement and ensure safety.”
Officials further indicated that the Authority will continue to conduct such enforcement drives on a regular basis. The initiative is intended not only to remove existing encroachments but also to deter future instances of unauthorised occupation.

The Authority reiterated that encroachment removal actions are being implemented as part of routine administrative operations and will be sustained in the coming period. Citizens and stakeholders have been encouraged to cooperate with the Authority’s efforts to maintain orderly public spaces.
