Gautam Buddh Nagar, 06 February 2026
To ensure admission of children belonging to disadvantaged groups and economically weaker sections in unaided recognized private schools of the district under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the academic session 2026–27, the District Magistrate convened a review meeting with officials of the Education Department and other concerned departments at the Collectorate.
The District Magistrate stated that this flagship scheme of the government plays a crucial role in achieving the goal of equitable and inclusive education. He emphasized that no eligible child should be deprived of the benefits of the scheme. He directed officials to complete the admission process in a transparent, time-bound and accountable manner, with regular monitoring at every level.

Stressing the importance of effective outreach, the District Magistrate instructed that extensive publicity should be carried out through door-to-door and mass awareness campaigns. Revenue officials, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, NRLM volunteers, village heads, RWAs, District Panchayat Raj Officers, development authorities and public address systems mounted on municipal waste collection vehicles should be utilized to ensure last-mile dissemination of information.
He further clarified that any irregularity, discrimination or demand for additional fees at the school level would not be tolerated. Strict punitive action will be taken against institutions found violating government guidelines.
The District Magistrate underlined that the success of the scheme depends on accurate and impartial verification. He directed the Education Department to coordinate with all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to ensure that income certificates are issued only after proper field verification. Officials found issuing incorrect or fake certificates will face departmental action, including suspension and disciplinary proceedings. Random sample verification of applications and mandatory re-verification of suspicious cases were also directed.
