A new Ayushman Arogya Mandir was inaugurated in Madipur today, as Delhi witnessed the simultaneous opening of 51 such centers across the city. The event was attended by Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh, Madipur MLA Kailash Gangwal, and senior officials from the health department.

With the launch of these 51 new centers, the total number of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Delhi has reached 370. This milestone has been achieved within the first year of the current government’s tenure. So far, more than 1.4 million residents have availed healthcare services at these centers, reflecting growing public trust in community-level primary healthcare.
Addressing the gathering, the health minister stated that the Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative aims to bring primary healthcare closer to people’s homes. The objective is to ensure that women, senior citizens, and families do not have to travel long distances to access basic medical care. Essential health services are now being made available at the neighborhood level.

He explained that these centers provide free medical consultations, essential medicines, and over 100 diagnostic tests. In addition, services include screening for diabetes, hypertension, and cancer, maternal and child healthcare, immunization programs, mental health support, and regular follow-up care. These facilities have significantly reduced the burden on major government hospitals while ensuring timely treatment.
The newly inaugurated Madipur Ayushman Arogya Mandir has been developed as a model center. It features a dedicated maternity ward, which will be gradually replicated across other centers in Delhi. The facility also includes meditation and yoga services, with trained instructors conducting sessions twice a week to promote preventive healthcare and holistic well-being.
Additional services at the Madipur center include tuberculosis care, cancer screening, and treatment support. The center will operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., ensuring easy access to affordable and quality healthcare for residents of nearby areas.
The health minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen Delhi’s public healthcare infrastructure through the development of integrated public health laboratories and critical care blocks. These initiatives aim to create a seamless healthcare system ranging from primary care to advanced treatment.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he stated that the goal is to establish over 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across Delhi. This expansion will ensure wider access to primary healthcare services for residents at the local level. Citizens were urged to make full use of these facilities and spread awareness within their communities to support the vision of a healthier Delhi.
