Greater Noida Authority – January 27, 2026
Preparations are underway to soon operationalise another alternative route between Noida and Greater Noida, aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity between the twin cities. As part of these efforts, Greater Noida Authority General Manager AK Singh on Tuesday inspected the under-construction bridge over the Hindon River and the approach road connecting Knowledge Park III in Greater Noida with Sectors 146–147 in Noida. During the inspection, he directed officials to expedite the completion of the approach road on the Greater Noida side so that the route can be opened to the public at the earliest.

The new bridge and connecting roads are being developed to further streamline traffic movement between Noida and Greater Noida, which has witnessed a significant increase in vehicular volume over the past few years. The bridge over the Hindon River is being constructed between Knowledge Park III and Noida Sectors 146–147, providing an additional link apart from the existing routes that currently bear heavy traffic pressure.
To support the bridge connectivity, approach roads are being developed on both sides by the Noida Authority and the Greater Noida Authority. On the Greater Noida side, the approach road is approximately one kilometre long. The construction of this stretch involves an estimated expenditure of around Rs 25 crore. The Authority is making sustained efforts to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe to ensure timely commissioning of the alternative route.
Greater Noida Authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar has already issued clear instructions to ensure that the construction of the approach road on the Greater Noida side is completed at the earliest. The objective is to ensure that as soon as the bridge becomes operational, commuters can immediately start using this alternative corridor without any delay. Acting on these directives, General Manager AK Singh personally reviewed the progress of the project during his site visit.

During the inspection, AK Singh reviewed the pace and quality of work being carried out by the Work Circle-5 team, which is responsible for executing the approach road project on the Greater Noida side. He instructed the team to adhere strictly to timelines and ensure that the remaining work is completed efficiently without compromising construction standards. According to the General Manager, approximately 50 percent of the work on the Greater Noida side approach road has been completed so far.
Officials associated with the project informed that the remaining construction work is expected to take around six months to complete. Parallelly, the construction of the bridge over the Hindon River is progressing under the supervision of the Bridge Corporation. Authorities involved in the bridge construction have expressed confidence that the bridge will also be completed within a similar timeframe.
By the time the bridge construction is completed, the approach road on the Noida side is also expected to be ready. Once both the bridge and approach roads are completed, the entire stretch will be opened for vehicular movement, providing a seamless alternative route between Noida and Greater Noida.

The opening of this new corridor is expected to significantly benefit daily commuters who currently rely on congested routes to travel between the two cities. It will also help reduce the traffic load at Pari Chowk, which is one of the busiest traffic junctions in Greater Noida and often experiences heavy congestion during peak hours.
With the addition of this new route, traffic distribution across multiple corridors will improve, leading to smoother vehicular flow, reduced travel time, and enhanced road safety. The Greater Noida Authority believes that the project will play a crucial role in strengthening inter-city connectivity and supporting the region’s growing residential, educational, and commercial activities.
