The Lohri festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at B-3 Aravali Apartments in Sector 34 on Tuesday, bringing residents together for an evening of music, dance, and traditional festivities. Residents marked the occasion as a celebration of the new season and the onset of a change in weather, reflecting the cultural significance of Lohri.
According to RWAs President Dharmendra Sharma, Lohri is celebrated as a festival of joy, marking the beginning of the new harvest season and the shift in climate. Special arrangements were made in the society’s central park to host the celebrations, providing a space for residents to gather and partake in traditional rituals.
The festivities began at 7 PM with a ceremonial Lohri fire, accompanied by prayers and the lighting of the bonfire. Residents actively participated in sharing traditional treats such as peanuts, popcorn, and sesame-based sweets, exchanging greetings and spreading the festive spirit.

The event also featured vibrant performances of Bhangra and Gidda, with residents dancing to the beats of traditional drums. The lively music and spirited dance performances created an atmosphere of camaraderie and cultural pride among attendees.
Key attendees included RWAs President Dharmendra Sharma, General Secretary Pradeep Singh, Vice President Amit Rastogi, Joint Treasurer Avinash Kumar, Savita Kedar, BS Randhawa, Kulvinder Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Payal Verma, Savita Grover, Rajneesh Kumar, and Gurpinder Singh, among others. The participation of community members highlighted the strong sense of community and collective celebration within the society.
