Noida. Students of IMS Noida — BCA second year student Rohit Singh Rawat and BCA first year student Abhay Srivastava — have been awarded the Health Fellowship by Smart Sanstha. This recognition was given to them for their active contribution under the “Sehat Sahi Labh Kai Abhiyan” through community radio programmes.
Both students played an important role in spreading awareness on nutrition, hygiene, and women’s health in rural areas such as Maknpur, Kanawani, and Sarfabad through Salam Namaste Community Radio. Their efforts helped in reaching crucial health-related information to rural communities, thereby promoting awareness and behavioral change.
After receiving the fellowship, a positive atmosphere was observed in the institution. Reacting to the achievement, IMS Noida President Rajeev Kumar Gupta said that such initiatives help students understand their responsibility towards society. He stated that these experiences connect students with real-life challenges and develop leadership qualities, sensitivity, and social awareness. He also mentioned that IMS students are actively contributing not only in education but also in social work, which is highly commendable.
Salam Namaste Community Radio Station Head Varsha Chhabaria stated that both students actively participated in various community awareness campaigns, health programmes, and outreach activities. Through radio programme outreach and narrowcasting activities, they played a significant role in spreading health awareness across villages. For their excellent performance, dedication, and efficiency, they were awarded a fellowship along with a certificate of appreciation.
