The meeting was conducted at the Collectorate Auditorium and attended by the Assistant Director, Electrical Safety, technical representatives of all lift manufacturing companies and service providers, and presidents and secretaries of district societies. The meeting aimed to monitor timely lift registration, AMC compliance, and maintenance standards effectively.
Directions for Effective Registration Drive
The District Magistrate instructed all officials and manufacturing institutions to ensure that all lifts installed in societies, hospitals, schools, hotels, and commercial/industrial buildings are registered under a special campaign. He emphasized raising public awareness regarding the importance of lift registration and safety.
Instructions for Submission of Lift Lists
The District Magistrate directed all lift manufacturing companies and service providers to submit a complete list of all lifts installed in the district to the District Magistrate’s office and the Assistant Director, Electrical Safety within two days. This measure aims to simplify administration and safety management.
Ensuring Registration Certificates and AMC Details
The District Magistrate stated that representatives of societies, hospitals, schools, hotels, and commercial/industrial buildings should be contacted to ensure possession of lift registration certificates and AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) details. Institutions failing to register will be reported to the District Magistrate’s office and Electrical Safety office.
Strict Stance on Fees and Irregularities
It was clarified that some societies and industries have increased registration/AMC fees excessively. All lift manufacturing firms were instructed to maintain fees according to regulations.
The District Magistrate also directed that any lift manufacturing company or AMC provider found involved in irregularities in lift maintenance, operation, or registration will be blacklisted. Firms delaying or neglecting lift registration will face strict punitive action under the Uttar Pradesh Lift and Escalator Act 2024 and Rules 2024.
