The District Basic Education Officer, Gautam Buddh Nagar, informed that the admission process has been scheduled in three phases. The first phase of application will remain open from 02 February 2026 to 16 February 2026, with the lottery scheduled for 18 February 2026. For the academic session 2026–27, a total of 1520 applications have already been received through the official RTE portal rte25.upsdc.gov.in for admissions in unaided recognized schools of the district. Eligible parents who have not yet applied are advised to submit their applications within the stipulated timelines.
The eligibility criteria under the RTE scheme clearly define the categories of disadvantaged and weaker sections. These include children belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, children with disabilities, children whose parents or guardians fall below the poverty line or hold Antyodaya cards, children of parents suffering from HIV or cancer, orphaned children, and children whose guardians receive disability, old-age, or widow pension, irrespective of whether the child resides in a child care institution.
It has been mandated that the annual income of the parents or guardians should not exceed ₹1.00 lakh. Applicants must submit essential documents including income certificate, caste certificate, residence certificate, Aadhaar card of parents or guardians, birth certificate of the child, other relevant eligibility certificates, and Aadhaar-linked bank account details.
While filling the application, parents or guardians must carefully select their respective Gram Panchayat or urban ward. The Gram Panchayat or ward where the school is located will be treated as the unit for admission. Applications submitted from a different unit will be rejected.
The District Basic Education Officer further stated that parents of children aged between 03 and 07 years are eligible to apply and avail the benefits of this scheme. The RTE initiative plays a vital role in integrating children from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds into the mainstream education system and ensuring equal access to quality education.
