The three-day Golden Goal Cup Open Football Tournament concluded on Thursday at the Institute of Management Studies, Noida, with thrilling matches and high-energy performances. Quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final were played on the concluding day, showcasing competitive football and strong sportsmanship. Goal Hunter claimed the championship title after a commanding victory in the final.

Held at the Sector-62 campus, the tournament featured teams from various universities and football clubs. The event aimed to promote sports culture among youth and provide a competitive platform for emerging football talent. Enthusiastic spectators witnessed intense matches throughout the tournament.
According to sports coordinator Reena Massey, three quarterfinal matches were played on the final day. In the first match, Delhi Warriors defeated Bennett University 2-0. DG Warriors secured a convincing 4-0 win against Azad FC in the second quarterfinal, while Goal Hunter overpowered Galgotias University with a 6-1 victory in the third.
The semifinals witnessed equally intense competition. Golden FC defeated DG Warriors 2-1 to reach the final, while Goal Hunter edged past Delhi Warriors with a narrow 1-0 win. Both matches highlighted tactical gameplay, discipline, and team coordination.

The third-place playoff between Delhi Warriors and DG Warriors saw DG Warriors emerge victorious with a 3-1 scoreline, securing the second runner-up position after a determined performance.
The final match between Golden FC and Goal Hunter proved to be a one-sided affair. Goal Hunter dominated from the outset, displaying aggressive attacking strategies and solid defense to secure a convincing 4-0 win. Their superior teamwork, fitness, and execution left Golden FC with limited opportunities to respond.
IMS Noida president Rajeev Kumar Gupta stated that the institution emphasizes holistic development through academics and co-curricular activities. Sports competitions foster confidence, discipline, and positive energy among students, and all participating teams demonstrated commendable sportsmanship.

Vice president Chirag Gupta emphasized that IMS Noida remains committed to nurturing leadership, teamwork, and discipline through sports. Events like the Golden Goal Cup provide young athletes with a valuable platform to showcase their talent and competitive spirit.
At the closing ceremony, the winning team Goal Hunter received a cash prize of ₹11,000 along with the championship trophy. The first runner-up team was awarded ₹7,100 and a trophy, while the second runner-up received a trophy. Medals and certificates were also presented to players of the winning and runner-up teams.
