Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), organised its flagship National Conclave on “AI Evolution – The Maha Kumbh of AI” at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), New Delhi. The event brought together policymakers, academic leaders, industry experts, and regulators to discuss the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India’s education and governance sectors.
The conclave was graced by the Hon’ble Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the need for India to embrace modern scientific and technological developments, noting that AI is redefining societal growth and progress. Calling AI a landmark revolution, he stressed that academic curricula must continuously evolve to meet contemporary demands. He emphasised the constructive use of technology, self-reliance in AI as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and highlighted the establishment of three Centres of Excellence in AI for healthcare, agriculture, and smart cities. He also underscored the critical importance of responsible AI adoption.
Education Minister, Ashish Sood, addressed the gathering, stating that AI’s potential cannot be realised in isolation. He described education as a process of liberation and called for responsible integration of AI into academic missions. Appreciating GGSIPU’s proactive approach, he highlighted the University’s initiatives in large language models (LLMs) and AI-enabled education tools. Sood also shared Delhi Government initiatives, including Vidya Samiksha Kendra, AI-powered education dashboards, and AI interventions in schools that engage students in solving real-time civic challenges.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Sandeep Kumar Ghosh, Publisher, Outlook, emphasised the need for AI to be used for judicious and informed decision-making.
Padm Shri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor, GGSIPU, outlined the University’s broader vision of using AI to make education adaptive, inquiry-led, and future-ready. He described the comprehensive framework developed by GGSIPU for AI adoption, grounded in sovereignty, responsibility, and the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. On the occasion, the University released two seminal works, AImagineering and AI Shakti, establishing the philosophical and operational foundations for AI-enabled learning for India and the global academic community.
Prof. Verma further highlighted GGSIPU’s partnership with Yotta to create an end-to-end AI-enabled education ecosystem. He explained that AI is being integrated as an academic companion across courses, enabling students to transition from rote memorisation to mastery.
The conclave was also enriched by the presence of Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE. The event reinforced GGSIPU’s commitment to responsible innovation, national capacity building, and collaborative leadership, highlighting the University’s pivotal role in shaping an ethical and effective AI-driven educational future.
