Gautam Buddh Nagar, March 20, 2026:
The district administration in Gautam Buddh Nagar has intensified its inspection campaign against the commercial misuse of LPG cylinders, black marketing, illegal refilling, and other unlawful activities linked to domestic gas supply. The action is being carried out on the instructions of the District Magistrate to ensure strict control over irregularities in the distribution and use of LPG and petroleum products across the district.
To conduct the drive, joint inspection teams have been constituted under the chairmanship of the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrates and City Magistrates. These teams include officials from the Weights and Measures Department, the Food and Civil Supplies Department, and representatives of oil companies. The purpose of the coordinated enforcement effort is to maintain transparency in LPG distribution and prevent the misuse of domestic gas cylinders for unauthorized commercial purposes.
According to the District Supply Officer, the teams carried out inspections at multiple locations across the district in continuation of the ongoing campaign. During the checks, several gas agencies operating in Noida, Greater Noida, and Jewar were inspected.
The agencies inspected in the Noida urban area included Mithila Gas Godam in Sector 54, Noida, Aradhika Bharat Gas Godam in Sector 54, Noida, and Gaurav Enterprises Gas Godam, also located in Sector 54, Noida. The team also inspected Sai Vinay Bharat Gas Agency in Noida city.
In Greater Noida, the inspection was conducted at Mahalaxmi HP Gas Agency, while in Jewar tehsil, officials inspected Jewar Indane Gas Agency in Jewar.
Officials said that during the inspection, all the above-mentioned gas agencies were found to have an adequate stock of LPG cylinders. In addition, required licenses and related documentation concerning weights, measures, and other regulatory permissions were found to be updated and in order at these agencies.
Apart from checking licensed gas agencies, the enforcement teams also carried out precautionary raids at two grocery shops in different parts of the district to prevent the black marketing of domestic LPG cylinders. The raids were aimed at identifying whether domestic cylinders were being used for illegal refilling or stored unlawfully for unauthorized sale or commercial use.
During these raids, officials did not find any equipment or material related to illegal gas refilling at either of the shops. No small or large domestic gas cylinders were recovered from the two shops during the action.
Even though no illegal refilling material was found, all shopkeepers concerned were issued strict directions. They were clearly instructed not to engage in gas refilling under any circumstances and not to store domestic LPG cylinders illegally in their establishments. The district administration warned that any future violation of LPG distribution norms would invite strict action under the law.
The District Supply Officer said the inspection drive will continue in the district on a regular basis. The administration intends to maintain close monitoring to ensure that LPG and other petroleum products are distributed in a transparent manner and in full compliance with legal provisions.
Officials emphasized that such drives are necessary to prevent diversion of subsidized domestic LPG cylinders into commercial use, which can create artificial shortages, promote black marketing, and pose safety risks due to unauthorized handling and refilling practices. By conducting sustained inspections at agencies and local markets, the administration aims to deter irregularities and safeguard the interests of consumers.
The ongoing campaign is part of the district administration’s broader effort to strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure that essential fuel supplies reach consumers through lawful and monitored channels
