Amid rising temperatures and intense summer heat, Greater Noida Authority has installed a free water ATM at the Delta Labour Chowk to provide relief to workers and commuters. The facility was inaugurated by Tejpal Nagar on Friday. The initiative aims to ensure access to clean and chilled RO drinking water for hundreds of daily wage labourers who gather at the location every day in search of work.
The new water ATM is expected to become an important public utility point during the peak summer season, especially for workers spending long hours outdoors under extreme heat conditions. Authorities believe the initiative will help reduce difficulties faced by labourers and passersby struggling to find safe drinking water during the day.
Water Facility Introduced Keeping Workers’ Needs In Mind
Delta Labour Chowk is one of the busiest labour gathering points in Greater Noida where hundreds of workers assemble every morning seeking employment opportunities. Due to continuous exposure to sunlight and high temperatures, access to drinking water had become a major concern at the location.
Recognizing the issue, the Greater Noida Authority decided to install the water ATM under the direction of its senior officials. The administration stated that providing basic facilities such as safe drinking water at public gathering points is essential, particularly during the summer season when heat-related health risks increase significantly.
Officials said the project was completed quickly to ensure timely relief for workers and local residents. The move is also being viewed as part of the authority’s broader efforts to improve public infrastructure and civic amenities across Greater Noida.
Workers And Commuters To Receive Free RO Chilled Water
During the inauguration ceremony, Tejpal Nagar said that a chilled drinking water facility was urgently needed at the labour chowk. Hundreds of workers spend several hours at the location every day, making access to safe and cold water extremely important during harsh summer conditions.
The installed water ATM will provide purified RO drinking water free of cost. Authorities believe the facility will help people stay hydrated and reduce the risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration. Local residents and workers welcomed the initiative and described it as a practical and much-needed public service.
Experts also point out that access to clean drinking water at crowded public locations has become increasingly important in rapidly expanding urban areas. Facilities like water ATMs can significantly improve public health and comfort during extreme weather conditions.
Second Water ATM In Greater Noida
This is the second water ATM installed in Greater Noida. Earlier, a similar facility was inaugurated at Naton Ki Madai area on May 7 by Dhirendra Singh. With temperatures continuing to rise, authorities are now considering expanding such facilities to more crowded public locations across the city.
The administration believes that improving access to drinking water is a critical part of urban infrastructure development. As Greater Noida continues to grow rapidly, public utility services are being upgraded to match the increasing needs of residents and workers.
Officials And Local Representatives Attended The Event
Several officials and local representatives were present during the inauguration ceremony. Senior Manager Rajesh Kumar Nim, Manager Swatantra Verma, Junior Engineer Kuldeep Sharma, and representatives from Delta sector also attended the event.
Officials stated that more initiatives focused on public welfare and summer relief measures may be introduced in the coming weeks. The water ATM project is being seen as a small but impactful step toward improving civic convenience and ensuring better living conditions for workers and commuters in Greater Noida.
