Dispute Over Road Construction Turns Violent
A violent incident was reported from Upralsi village under the Jarcha police station area of Greater Noida on February 4, where an elderly woman was attacked with a spade during a dispute related to road construction.
Police said a conflict had been ongoing between two groups in the village over the laying of a brick road by the village administration.

Woman Attacked at the Site
According to eyewitnesses, the elderly woman arrived at the construction site and objected to the ongoing work. During the argument, a youth from the opposing side, holding a spade, suddenly ran towards her and attacked her.
The attacker knocked the woman to the ground and struck her repeatedly with the spade, causing serious injuries. Villagers intervened and managed to rescue her from further harm.
Incident Captured on CCTV
The entire incident was recorded on a CCTV camera installed at a nearby house. The footage clearly shows the attacker running towards the woman and assaulting her.
Police have seized the CCTV footage as key evidence in the case.
Case Registered, One Accused Arrested
Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s son, police registered a case against two individuals. One accused, identified as Babli, has been arrested, while the second accused remains absconding.
Police teams are conducting raids to apprehend the absconding suspect.
Weapon Recovered, Investigation Ongoing
The spade used in the attack has been recovered by the police. The injured woman was admitted to a hospital, where her condition is reported to be serious but stable.
Police Statement
The Jarcha station in-charge stated that the assault occurred during a dispute over road construction. Legal action has been initiated, one accused has been arrested, and efforts are underway to arrest the second accused. Further investigation is in progress.
