Gautam Buddh Nagar, April 9, 2026: A review meeting of the District Soldiers Welfare Committee was conducted under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Manglesh Dubey at the Collectorate auditorium. The meeting focused on addressing the concerns of ex-servicemen and ensuring that government welfare schemes meant for soldiers reach all eligible beneficiaries without any gaps.

During the meeting, the Additional District Magistrate listened to various issues raised by ex-servicemen and directed concerned officials to resolve them on priority. The objective of the meeting was to ensure timely redressal of grievances and strengthen the delivery of benefits provided under different government initiatives for the welfare of former soldiers and their families.

Focus on Timely Resolution of Grievances

Ex-servicemen present in the meeting highlighted several issues affecting their daily lives, including land development concerns, poor condition of village roads, waterlogging problems, and difficulties related to police matters. In addition, concerns regarding access to bank loans, pension-related delays, education facilities, financial assistance, employment opportunities, and healthcare services were also brought forward.

Taking serious note of these issues, the Additional District Magistrate instructed all departmental officials to address the problems in a time-bound manner. He emphasized that the grievances raised during the meeting must be resolved efficiently and that progress reports should be presented in the next बैठक to ensure accountability and transparency in the process.

Strengthening Welfare Scheme Implementation

The meeting also stressed the importance of effective implementation of welfare schemes introduced by the Uttar Pradesh government for soldiers. Officials were directed to ensure wide publicity of these schemes so that every eligible ex-serviceman can benefit from them. The administration highlighted the need for proactive efforts to identify beneficiaries and eliminate any gaps in the distribution of benefits.

It was emphasized that no eligible soldier in the district should be deprived of the advantages offered under government welfare programs. Ensuring maximum outreach and awareness was identified as a key step toward achieving this goal.

Coordination Among Departments

The Additional District Magistrate called for better coordination among various departments to streamline the resolution process. He instructed officials to work collectively and respond promptly to the concerns raised by ex-servicemen. The role of each department was underlined in ensuring that solutions are not delayed due to procedural hurdles.

The administration reiterated its commitment to addressing the issues of ex-servicemen with seriousness and sensitivity, recognizing their contribution and service to the nation. The meeting served as a platform for direct interaction between officials and beneficiaries, helping bridge communication gaps and improve governance.

Participation of Officials and Ex-Servicemen

The meeting witnessed participation from several key officials, including District Development Officer Shiv Pratap Parmesh and District Soldier Welfare and Rehabilitation Officer Gautam Buddh Nagar Captain (IN) Ram Pravesh Singh, along with police representatives and officials from concerned departments. Office bearers of the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Committee and several ex-servicemen were also present and actively participated in the discussion.

The presence of multiple stakeholders ensured that the issues were discussed comprehensively and necessary instructions were issued on the spot. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the administration’s commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen and timely resolution of their concerns.
