A key meeting of the District Health Society–Governing Body was held on Tuesday at the auditorium of the Vikas Bhawan in Gautam Buddh Nagar under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Dr Shivakant Dwivedi. The meeting focused on a comprehensive review of the progress of various national and state-level health programmes, services, and schemes being implemented across the district.

Chairing the meeting, Dr Shivakant Dwivedi emphasised that providing quality, accessible, and timely healthcare services to the general public remains the highest priority of the government. He stated that effective implementation of health schemes is possible only through strong coordination among all concerned officers and health personnel. Stressing on last-mile delivery, he said that the benefits of healthcare services must reach every eligible citizen without interruption.

During the meeting, Chief Medical Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar Dr Narendra Kumar made a detailed presentation through a PowerPoint presentation, outlining the achievements of the Health Department and the ongoing action plans. He briefed the committee on the progress of several key initiatives, including the Prime Minister’s TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, e-Sanjeevani telemedicine services, telemedicine outreach, e-Kavach app, identification and treatment of SAM children, MRU activities, VHSND, VAB, HBNC, HBYC programmes, NCD screening, vector-borne disease control measures, Janani Suraksha Yojana, promotion of institutional deliveries, immunisation coverage, and the availability of essential medicines in health facilities.

Reviewing the district’s performance on the UP Health Dashboard, the Chief Development Officer issued specific directions to all concerned Medical Officers In-Charge to take focused steps to improve the district’s ranking. He instructed that data validation meetings should be organised regularly at all block levels to ensure timely and accurate data uploading. Dr Dwivedi also directed corrective action against Community Health Officers who have failed to achieve expected progress in telemedicine services under the e-Sanjeevani platform.
Highlighting the importance of motivation and healthy competition among healthcare professionals, the Chief Development Officer instructed that the district’s top 10 performing doctors in the field of telemedicine should be felicitated on the occasion of the upcoming UP Day. He said such recognition would help encourage better performance and strengthen service delivery in digital healthcare initiatives.
Dr Dwivedi described maternal and child health as a highly sensitive and priority area and issued strict instructions to ensure 100 percent immunisation of all children in the district. He stressed that no negligence would be tolerated at any level. He further directed officials to regularly monitor bed occupancy in the SNCU at the District Hospital, along with the treatment of SAM children and the implementation of neonatal and maternal health programmes.

The Chief Development Officer also directed that uninterrupted availability of essential medicines must be ensured in all government and private hospitals across the district. He laid special emphasis on maintaining cleanliness in all health units and ensuring that biomedical waste is disposed of strictly in accordance with prescribed standards and guidelines.
During the meeting, instructions were also issued to prioritise the identification of eligible beneficiaries for Ayushman Bharat through all government and private hospitals, educational institutions, and ration card dealers. Dr Dwivedi stressed that Ayushman cards should be generated on a priority basis so that no eligible person is deprived of health insurance coverage under the scheme.

The meeting proceedings were conducted smoothly under the coordination of DPM Dr Manjeet. Several senior health officials and departmental representatives were present at the meeting, including Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Ajay Rana, ACMO Dr R K Siroha, Deputy CMO Dr Ubed Qureshi, DTO Dr R P Singh, DMO Dr Shruti Kirti Verma, along with all Medical Officers In-Charge and other concerned officials from related departments.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery systems in Gautam Buddh Nagar through continuous monitoring, data-driven planning, and coordinated implementation of health programmes. The administration emphasised that sustained efforts at every level are essential to improve health outcomes and ensure comprehensive healthcare access for the district’s population.
