The Dadri Assembly constituency took another significant step towards strengthening its infrastructure with the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Kalonda–Gesupur road project on Wednesday. The project was formally inaugurated by Dadri MLA Tejpal Singh Nagar and is being seen as a major initiative to improve road connectivity and accelerate development in the region.
The proposed road will be 2.31 kilometres long and will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹538.52 lakh. Once completed, the project is expected to benefit thousands of residents from Kalonda, Gesupur and nearby villages by easing daily commuting and improving overall accessibility.

Addressing the gathering at the ceremony, MLA Tejpal Singh Nagar emphasised the crucial role of strong road infrastructure in the holistic development of any region. He said roads are not merely a means of transportation but a foundation for progress, as they directly impact education, healthcare, trade and employment opportunities. According to him, the Kalonda–Gesupur road will significantly reduce travel difficulties faced by residents and give a boost to economic and social activities in the area.
Nagar further stated that the government is committed to ensuring that every village is connected with durable and well-planned roads. He said continuous efforts are being made in the Dadri Assembly constituency to upgrade basic infrastructure and public facilities. Highlighting the broader development vision, he added that balanced growth across rural and semi-urban areas remains a key priority.
The foundation stone-laying ceremony witnessed the presence of a large number of public representatives, party functionaries and local residents. Those present included Dhir Rana, Jarcha Mandal President; Narendra Pradhan; Ashok Kumar, BDC member; Pradeep Mangal; Shoorveer Gehlot; Subedar Kishanpal Singh; Umesh, Chairman; Captain Rambhool Singh; Pramod Sharma; Jagpal Singh; Sukhveer Singh; Prempal Singh, Secretary; Dinesh Singh; Harish Singh; Bhanu Pratap Singh; Ismat Khan; Kumar Pal Singh; Arjun Singh; Santendra Singh Fauji; Praveen; along with several other prominent citizens.

Local villagers welcomed the launch of the project and expressed gratitude to the MLA for addressing a long-pending demand. Residents said the Kalonda–Gesupur road had been in poor condition for years, causing severe inconvenience, especially during the monsoon season when damaged stretches and waterlogging made travel difficult. They said the new road would significantly improve safety and reduce travel time.
Villagers also pointed out that better connectivity would benefit farmers and small traders by enabling smoother transportation of agricultural produce and goods. Improved roads are expected to reduce transportation costs, enhance market access and create new economic opportunities at the local level.
The Kalonda–Gesupur road project is being viewed as an important link in the chain of ongoing development works in the Dadri Assembly constituency. Over the past few years, multiple initiatives have been undertaken to improve road networks, civic amenities and public infrastructure in the region. These efforts are aimed at raising living standards and ensuring sustainable development.

With the foundation stone now laid, construction work is expected to commence soon. Once completed, the Kalonda–Gesupur road is likely to play a vital role in strengthening connectivity, facilitating local commerce and supporting the broader development goals of the Dadri Assembly constituency, reinforcing its journey towards steady growth and improved quality of life.
