New Delhi | March 16, 2026 — A special cultural ceremony was organised at the Delhi Secretariat under the historic “Phool Walon Ki Sair” festival, symbolising Delhi’s shared cultural heritage and communal harmony.
During the programme, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was honoured by members of the Anjuman Sair-e-Gul Faroshan with a traditional floral fan accompanied by shehnai music. The ceremony, marked by the melodious sounds of the shehnai, reflected the rich cultural traditions and composite heritage of the national capital.
Symbol of Delhi’s Shared Cultural Heritage
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that Phool Walon Ki Sair is not merely a festival but a remarkable example of Delhi’s shared cultural traditions and communal harmony.
She noted that the historic celebration reflects the spirit of unity and brotherhood that has long been a defining feature of India’s diverse culture.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the Delhi Government remains committed to preserving and promoting the capital’s historical traditions and cultural events. According to her, such programmes help connect younger generations with their cultural roots and strengthen mutual respect within society.
Festival Promotes Cultural Harmony
Delhi’s Minister for Art, Culture, Language and Tourism Kapil Mishra, who was also present at the event, said the festival strengthens the city’s shared cultural legacy.
He stated that Phool Walon Ki Sair is a historic tradition that promotes harmony, unity and brotherhood in society. The event also provides an opportunity to introduce Delhi’s rich cultural heritage and traditions to the younger generation.
Week-long Festival Celebrations
Officials said that “Phool Walon Ki Sair 2026” is being celebrated from March 15 to March 21, 2026, during which several cultural, religious and social programmes are being organised across the city.
The celebration continues to serve as a symbol of Delhi’s Ganga-Jamuni culture, bringing together communities and highlighting the capital’s enduring tradition of harmony and cultural diversity.
