₹85 crore in Badarpur, ₹115 crore in Sangam Vihar and ₹104 crore in Deoli

‘This is the beginning of change; the rejuvenation of South Delhi is our priority,’ says Chief Minister Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, 25 January 2026

The Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, today inaugurated development projects worth more than ₹300 crore in three Assembly constituencies of South Delhi: Badarpur, Sangam Vihar and Deoli. The Chief Minister said that these projects represent not merely a financial outlay, but the government’s firm commitment to the comprehensive transformation of South Delhi.

The development works include construction and upgradation of roads, drains and drainage systems, strengthening of drinking water supply, installation of street lights, development of parks, dispensaries and community banquet halls.

Several programmes and public meetings were organised on the occasion, which were attended by Member of Parliament from South Delhi Shri Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Chairman of the Delhi Rural Development Board Shri Rajkumar Chauhan, MLA Shri Chandan Kumar Chaudhary, municipal councillors and other distinguished citizens.

In Badarpur Assembly constituency, where development works worth ₹85 crore were inaugurated, the Chief Minister stated that this marks the beginning of a long-awaited change. She informed that the government is working in mission mode to eliminate the Okhla landfill and that residents of the area will soon witness visible transformation. The Chief Minister assured that all development works will be executed with complete transparency, completed within stipulated timelines and with strict adherence to quality standards. She reiterated the government’s commitment to making Badarpur a clean, safe, modern and model Assembly constituency.

In Sangam Vihar Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister inaugurated development projects worth over ₹115 crore. She said that these initiatives address the long-standing concerns of residents who have awaited basic infrastructure for years. She added that the projects will include large-scale reconstruction of roads, strengthening of sewerage and drainage systems, improvement of drinking water supply, and upgradation of lanes, drains and street lighting, thereby significantly improving the quality of life for residents.

In Deoli Assembly constituency, development works worth ₹104 crore were inaugurated. The Chief Minister said that these projects are an important step towards building a ‘Viksit Delhi’. The works include construction of new roads, expansion of sewerage and drainage networks, strengthening of water pipelines, beautification of parks and public spaces, and development of health and community centres. She stated that the long-pending demand for basic civic amenities in Deoli is now being addressed in a time-bound manner.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the objective of the Delhi Government is not limited to infrastructure creation, but to bring about meaningful change in the lives of citizens. She said that lifting South Delhi out of years of neglect and developing it into an ideal region with modern infrastructure, cleanliness and safety remains the government’s highest priority.

Addressing the gathering, MP Shri Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said that the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to develop Delhi as a world-class capital is being realised under the leadership of Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta. He thanked the Chief Minister on behalf of the people of South Delhi for allocating over ₹300 crore for development works in the three Assembly constituencies.
