The vision of Antyodaya, envisioned by former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is being carried forward with full commitment by the Central Government and the Delhi Government. This was stated by Delhi Government’s Minister for Social Welfare, SC/ST/OBC Welfare, Cooperation and Elections, Ravindra Indraj Singh, while addressing the Atal Smriti Conference held in the Bawana Assembly constituency and the Atal Sushasan Conference organized in the Badli Assembly constituency.
Ravindra Indraj said that the entire nation is celebrating the birth centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a visionary leader who laid the foundation for preparing India for the 21st century. Under his leadership, several historic initiatives were launched that transformed the nation. The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana connected villages with the mainstream of development. The Pokhran nuclear tests established India as a strong global power. The telecom revolution and expansion of internet services laid the foundation of Digital India, and education was granted the status of a fundamental right. The slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan” continues to inspire the nation even today.
He further stated that Atal Bihari Vajpayee set new standards of dignity and ethical conduct in parliamentary democracy. He always placed national interest above politics and even while in opposition, extended cooperation to the government during critical moments — a tradition rarely seen in present times.
The Social Welfare Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the vision of Antyodaya laid down by Atal Bihari Vajpayee is being realized in a concrete manner. Through the Bharatmala Project, India has witnessed unprecedented expansion of its road network. Under the Ujjwala Yojana, more than 10.35 crore families have received free LPG connections, while over 12 crore toilets have been constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra Yojana, Saubhagya Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Ayushman Bharat are steadily moving the nation toward the goal of a developed India.
Highlighting the initiatives of the Delhi Government, Ravindra Indraj said that during the last ten months, several landmark steps have been taken for the welfare of persons with disabilities and senior citizens. A monthly assistance of ₹6,000 is being provided to persons requiring high-level care. The Savitribai Phule Old Age Home in West Delhi, Atal Drishti Home for visually impaired girls in Timarpur, and Atal Asha Home in Narela have been established to provide modern rehabilitation and support facilities to differently-abled persons.
He emphasised that the Delhi Government is committed to ensuring that development reaches the last person standing in the queue. By adopting the philosophy of Antyodaya, the government is working on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.” He expressed confidence that by following this path, the vision of a Developed India and Developed Delhi will soon be realised.
