New Delhi | March 17, 2026 — Delhi’s Education & Sports Minister Ashish Sood participated in the “Viksit Bharat – Yuva Connect” programme held at Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Delhi, where he encouraged young people to take an active role in shaping the nation’s future.
Youth as Architects of a Developed India
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the programme is not just a formal event but a centre of transformative energy that can shape India’s future.
He told students that they are not merely learners but architects of a developed India, who will play a decisive role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
‘Amrit Kaal’ and Role of Youth
Referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shri Sood said that the ongoing Amrit Kaal is the period during which the dreams of independence must be transformed into the reality of development.
He emphasized that today’s youth are the ambassadors of a developed India, who will lead this transformation.
Inspiration from ‘Vande Mataram’ Legacy
Highlighting the 150-year legacy of ‘Vande Mataram’, he said the song represents a spirit of national awakening that energized the freedom movement.
Drawing a parallel, he urged youth to show similar passion and commitment in building a self-reliant and developed India by 2047.
Platform for Youth Empowerment
The Minister noted that the “Viksit Bharat – Yuva Connect” initiative provides a platform to connect youth with the national vision, empower them, and involve them in the country’s development journey.
He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Government is ensuring that youth are not just observers but leaders of change, with increased opportunities in sports, dialogue, and policy participation.
‘MY Bharat’ Initiative and Youth Participation
Shri Sood highlighted the ‘MY Bharat’ initiative, guided by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, which promotes volunteerism and nation-building among youth.
He shared that around 45,000 students from Delhi participated in ‘MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026’, reflecting the growing engagement of youth in understanding and contributing to economic policymaking.
Youth Participation in Budget-Making
He emphasized that a budget should reflect the aspirations of citizens, not just numbers.
In this spirit, the Delhi Government is inviting youth to contribute ideas and suggestions for the upcoming Delhi Budget.
Focus on ‘Rashtraneeti’ Curriculum
The Minister also highlighted the introduction of the ‘Rashtraneeti’ curriculum in Delhi government schools, aimed at developing:
- Civic awareness
- Understanding of traffic rules
- Gender sensitivity
- Sense of national responsibility
He stressed that education must go beyond academics to build character and responsible citizenship.
Call to Youth for 2047 Vision
Concluding his address, Shri Sood urged young people to reflect on their contribution when India completes 100 years of independence in 2047.
He reiterated that a nation is built not only by governments but by the resolve, efforts, and responsibility of its youth, and encouraged them to become part of the solution and agents of change.
