Data Insights
– Active domestic LPG consumers increased from 14.52 crore in April 2014 to 31.36 crore as of March 2023.
– LPG coverage rose from 62% in 2016 to 104.1% in 2022.
– As of January 30, 2023, a total of 9.58 crore connections were released under PMUY.
– Per capita consumption of PMUY beneficiaries increased from 3.01 in 2018-19 to 3.71 in 2022-23.
– During the COVID-19 pandemic, a free refill scheme under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana provided assistance of Rs. 9670.41 Crore to PMUY beneficiaries, supporting 14.17 Crore LPG refills.
