Noida, December 25, 2025:
On the auspicious occasion of Good Governance Day and the centennial birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the grand closing ceremony of the “MP Sports Festival” was held today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event witnessed the participation of prominent dignitaries, including former Union Minister and MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma, MLC Mohit Benival, Shri Chand Sharma, MLA Tejpal Nagar, and Vimla Batham, among others.

The festival, aligned with Prime Minister Modi’s visionary mantra “Khelega India, Badhega India,” aims to empower youth through sports, fostering discipline, self-reliance, and holistic development. The initiative seeks to encourage India’s younger generation to embrace sports not merely as competition but as a medium of nation-building and personal growth.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s remarkable achievements in the field of sports over recent years. He noted the country’s record-breaking medal tally at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, historic successes at the Asian Games, and the rising global recognition of Indian athletes. These accomplishments, he said, reflect a transformative shift in India’s sports culture, inspiring future generations to pursue excellence.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mahesh Sharma paid tribute to the ideals of Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his centennial anniversary and urged youth to follow his principles. He announced the successful completion of the first phase of the MP Sports Festival and formally inaugurated its second phase, encouraging maximum participation to realize the vision of a “Fit India,” championed by Prime Minister Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
MLC Mohit Benival also addressed the gathering, sharing select lines from Atal Ji’s writings that resonated strongly with the youth, motivating them to actively engage in sports and community service.
The festival witnessed record-level registration from athletes across Gautam Buddh Nagar, who participated enthusiastically in various sports, including volleyball, football, kabaddi, athletics, and para-sports. This high level of engagement demonstrates the growing recognition of sports as a pathway to career development, personal honor, and national service among India’s youth.

The event concluded with organizers expressing gratitude to all participants, trainers, and supporting institutions. Among those present were Metropolitan President Mahesh Chauhan, District President Gautam Buddh Nagar Abhishek Sharma, former District President Manoj Gupta, Yogendra Chaudhary, Jugraj Chauhan, Girija Singh, Dimple Anand, Umesh Tyagi, Chandgiram Yadav, Gautam Sharma, Satya Narayan Mahawar, Shashidhar Upadhyay, Manish Tiwari, Dinbandhu Kumar, Pradeep Chauhan, Neeraj Chaudhary, Ramkishan Yadav, along with MP Sports Festival Program Coordinator Sanjay Bali, Co-Coordinator Raj Nagar, NEA President Vipin Malhan, and other team members, officials, and volunteers.
