Lucknow, 07 Sept (HS): The BJP-led government in Uttar Pradesh is expected to convene a special session of the Assembly shortly to debate the state’s trillion-dollar economic objective. While the proposed session’s dates have not been approved by Yogi Adityanath’s Cabinet, reports say it might last 36 or 48 hours. The Adiyanath government has outlined a strategy for the state’s economy to reach one trillion US dollars by 2027, with an emphasis on numerous main industries. On this subject, the opposition has frequently criticized the government, particularly Samajwadi Party head and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Akhilesh Yadav.
On August 11, during the monsoon session of the Assembly, CM Adityanath challenged the SP chief to a 36-hour debate in the House over his dispensation’s one trillion dollar economy target, after Akhilesh claimed in his speech that the government was selling this big dream without focusing on agriculture.
I propose a comprehensive 36-hour discussion on transforming the state’s economy into a trillion-dollar one. You elected to depart, however, during the debate about sustainable development goals. You used to flee from difficulties, never mind finding a solution. We accepted the problems while also ensuring solutions, Adityanath informed Akhilesh in the House at the time. According to government sources, the extraordinary session would most likely be held once Cabinet finalizes the dates. The BJP-dominated Central government, under by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has called a five-day extraordinary session of Parliament from September 18 to 22, the agenda of which is still unknown.
