Agartala, 8 September : In the by-elections held for two seats in the Tripura Legislative Assembly, candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party have won both seats. After the counting of votes in the sixth and last round ended on Friday, the BJP candidates won both the Boxanagar and Dhanpur seats. After the victory, an atmosphere of celebration is being seen in the BJP offices across the state, along with the state BJP office.
BJP Candidate Tafazzul Hussain Wins Boxanagar By-Election
BJP candidate Tafazzul Hussain won by a margin of 30237 votes by getting 34146 votes in the by-election for the Boxanagar seat. On the other hand, Mizan Hussain, the candidate of the Communist Party of India-Marxists, lost the election by a huge margin of 33965 votes by getting 3909 votes. 434 people pressed the NOTA button on this seat.
Bindu Debnath’s Spectacular Victory in Dhanpur By-Election
BJP candidate Bindu Debnath won the election by-election from Dhanpur, the second assembly seat of the state, by getting 30017 votes and 18871 votes. His rival Kaushik Chandra of the Communist Party of India-Marxist Party got 11146 votes and lost the election by a margin of 18871 votes. 533 people pressed the NOTA button on this seat.
Party Leaders and Workers Gather at State BJP Office to Celebrate Victor
After the BJP’s victory in both seats, an atmosphere of celebration is being seen in the state BJP office. A crowd of party leaders and workers had been gathering at the state office since morning. Celebrations started as soon as the election results were announced.
