Lucknow, 10 Sept (HS): According to an official release, the Yogi government is actively implementing numerous programs to give excellent education to kids in the state. As part of these initiatives, the Shiv Nadar Foundation has established Vidya Gyan residential schools to provide free education to students from the state’s rural areas. The primary written entrance test for admission to class 6 at these government-supported institutions for the academic year 2024-25 is set for December 3, 2023. The official release said that eligible students would be able to apply for the entrance exams until October 30, 2023. Ganesh Kumar, Joint Director of Education (Basic), has addressed a letter to all Divisional Assistant Education Directors and District Basic Education Officers in this respect, instructing them to enroll as many pupils as possible.

The letter states that for more than a decade, Vidya Gyan residential schools established by the Shiv Nadar Foundation in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr and Sitapur districts for economically disadvantaged students from rural areas have provided these students with free, high-quality residential education from classes 6 to 12, in addition to accommodations, meals, uniforms, academic and computer education, sports for physical development, and leadership development. According to the official statement, the charity has offered such instruction to over 2000 pupils worldwide.

Education authorities are being advised to encourage eligible students from remote schools to participate, as well as to make the required preparations so that as many children as possible can benefit from this effort. According to the eligibility criteria for admission to class 6 in the academic year 2024-25, the student must be in class 5 at a council or government-aided school or a recognized private primary school in rural Uttar Pradesh, be a permanent resident of rural Uttar Pradesh, and have an annual family income of less than Rs 2 lakh, as stated in the official statement.

Furthermore, beginning of March 31, 2024, the minimum age for males shall be 10 years, and the maximum age should be 11 years. Similarly, as of the given date, the minimum age for girls shall be 10 years, and the maximum age should be 12 years.

The application forms are available through the District Basic Education Officer, the Block Education Officer, council or government primary schools in rural regions, accredited private primary schools, and the Vidya Gyan website for eligible pupils.
