In a visionary move to reshape India’s entertainment and digital economy, the Andhra Pradesh government has partnered with CreativeLand Asia to establish the country’s first Transmedia Entertainment City, dubbed Creatorland. This ambitious initiative, revealed at the WAVES Summit 2025 in Mumbai, aims to create a world-class hub for immersive entertainment, global content production, advanced digital storytelling, and youth skill development.
The project is anchored by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the state government and CreativeLand Asia in the presence of several global media industry leaders and dignitaries. The collaboration is set to bring transformative infrastructure to Andhra Pradesh, including immersive theme parks, esports arenas, a virtual studio complex, and global cinema co-production zones.
Investment and Global Collaboration
Creatorland is expected to attract investments ranging from Rs 8,000 to 10,000 crore over the next five to six years. The project will feature cutting-edge technologies such as AI-based real-time rendering, volumetric capture, and virtual production. Discussions are underway with over 20 international studios to make India a preferred production hub, with Creatorland positioned as a beacon for international creative partnerships and innovation.
The Creatorland Academy will also be established to train over 10,000 youth annually in fields such as VFX, gaming, immersive storytelling, and AI-based content creation. A Generative AI Lab is also part of the vision, aiming to drive new research and intellectual property creation within the Indian entertainment sector.
Boosting Tourism and Local Economy
The initiative is poised to significantly enhance Andhra Pradesh’s appeal as a destination for film tourism, tech-driven storytelling, and global content creation. Officials anticipate over 150,000 new jobs across entertainment, tech, and tourism sectors through this project.
Speaking at the summit, Andhra Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh emphasized the transformative nature of the partnership, noting its potential to turn the state into a magnet for talent, innovation, and world-class production infrastructure. CreativeLand founder Sajan Raj Kurup highlighted that Creatorland aims to blend Indian imagination with global expertise to redefine the future of entertainment.
Amrapali Kata, Managing Director of Andhra’s Department of Tourism and Entertainment, echoed the sentiment, describing the project as a forward-thinking model for inclusive development through tourism, infrastructure, and skill-building. Creatorland stands as a unique blueprint to place India at the heart of the global creative economy.
