Gautam Buddh Nagar, April 5, 2026:
The Regulatory Review Committee of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council will hold an important meeting with district officials at the Collectorate auditorium in Gautam Buddh Nagar on April 9, 2026, at 4 PM. The meeting aims to review compliance with legislative directives, address pending cases, and strengthen governance mechanisms at the district level.
The committee will focus on cases where action has not been taken on letters submitted by members of the Legislative Council, as well as instances where orders issued by the council’s benches have not been implemented. Matters related to alleged breach of privilege will also be reviewed during the meeting.
Agenda Finalised, Focus on Pending Public Issues
Ahead of the visit, a preparatory meeting was conducted in Lucknow, where the committee finalized its agenda after reviewing all pending cases. The exercise was led by committee chairman Ashwini Tyagi, who ensured that long-pending cases were categorized district-wise and shared with concerned authorities in advance.
The chairman stated that the committee will examine delays in responding to communications from public representatives and the slow submission of information sought under legislative rules. The objective is to ensure accountability and timely response within administrative systems.
Officials from multiple departments have been directed to attend the meeting with complete records and documentation related to the agenda points. The committee has emphasized that resolving pending public interest cases remains a priority, and departments must ensure timely compliance.
Ten Key Points for Review
The committee will conduct a detailed review based on ten defined points, which have already been circulated to all districts. These include:
- Details of letters received from legislators since 2024 and action taken
- Status of development proposals submitted by elected representatives across departments
- Compliance with government orders regarding inclusion of legislators’ names in official programs and public works
- Implementation of directives issued by the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh
- Cases of protocol violations reported since 2024

- Expenditure incurred on publicity of government schemes in the past year
- Action taken against illegal and counterfeit liquor by the excise department
- Complaints related to corruption, non-compliance with protocol, and submission of property details on the Human Sampada portal
Departments have also been instructed to present photographic evidence and detailed reports, wherever applicable, particularly in cases involving public works, advertisements, and compliance with official guidelines.
Strengthening Transparency and Administrative Efficiency
The meeting is expected to play a key role in improving transparency, coordination, and efficiency within district administration. By reviewing departmental performance and adherence to regulations, the committee aims to ensure that governance processes remain responsive and accountable.
Officials may also use the platform to highlight operational challenges and seek clarity on policy implementation. The committee’s observations and recommendations could lead to corrective measures and improved service delivery across departments.
The initiative reflects the broader effort of the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that administrative systems function effectively and that public grievances are addressed without delay.
With a clear focus on compliance, accountability, and public interest, the upcoming meeting in Gautam Buddh Nagar is expected to set the tone for stricter monitoring and improved governance practices across districts.
