A devastating fire engulfed a house in Behta Hajipur village near the Loni border area of Ghaziabad district late last night, claiming the lives of five people, including two children, authorities confirmed.
According to Additional Police Commissioner Dinesh Kumar P, the fire incident resulted in casualties and injuries, with two survivors, a woman and a child, rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The fire brigade and police were alerted promptly after receiving distress calls late on June 12.
“The fire erupted on the ground floor and quickly spread to upper levels, trapping occupants on the first and second floors,” stated Dinesh P. “Sadly, five individuals lost their lives, including children, adults, and elderly residents. Among the deceased are a seven-year-old girl and a seven-month-old infant. The injured are currently receiving medical care.”
Authorities have initiated an inquiry to ascertain the cause of the fire. Initial reports suggest the presence of foam cubes in the house may have exacerbated the blaze, although further investigation will determine the exact circumstances leading to the tragedy.
The identities of the deceased are being verified as authorities work to provide support and gather more details about the incident.
