The tourism business badly affected by the Corona Pandemic is now back on track. A boom is now being seen in the tourism sector, which was sluggish after Corona. This sector in the country has seen growth of 106 percent over the previous year. At the same time, the confidence of tourists has also increased regarding Jammu and Kashmir and Varanasi.
According to the statistics of the union Ministry of Tourism, the number of domestic tourists in Jammu and Kashmir was 113 lakh in the year 2021, which increased to 184 lakh in the year 2022. So far in the year 2023, 109 lakh tourists have come to the valley.
Union Culture and Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy said that the number of tourists in Jammu and Kashmir is increasing rapidly. The reason for this is the development work done there under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including measures to promote tourism and increase the participation of the people. An increase in the number of foreign tourists is also being recorded in the valley. He said that after the construction of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, there has been a huge increase in the number of tourists in Kashi. In the year 2021, 68 lakh tourists came here, while this number increased to 716 lakh in the year 2022. So far in the year 2023, this number has increased to 229 lakhs.
A big boom is also being seen in the tourism sector of the country. According to the data from January to June in the years 2021–22, 21.24 lakh tourists came, while in the years 2022–23, this number increased to 43.80 lakh in the same month. Means an increase of 106 percent.
