A tragic road accident on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Greater Noida resulted in the death of three people, including a woman, while a young girl sustained injuries. The incident occurred near the Shahpur underpass in the Dadri area when a speeding truck rammed into a car from behind. The impact caused the car to lose control and crash into the roadside barrier. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, prompting a police search operation.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Crash

The accident took place while a family was traveling from Rajasthan to Varanasi. As their vehicle moved past the Dadri cut toward Ghaziabad, a speeding truck approaching from behind collided with the car. The force of the impact caused the vehicle to veer off course and crash into the barricading. The severity of the collision led to the immediate death of three occupants.

Victims and Injured Survivor

The deceased were residents of Bhilwara district in Rajasthan and were reportedly on a family trip. The victims have been identified as Vivek, Ram, and Mamta. A young girl traveling with them was injured and rushed to a nearby private hospital. Medical reports indicate that her condition is stable and she is out of danger.

Police Investigation Underway

Police teams arrived at the scene shortly after receiving information about the accident and initiated rescue operations. Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding and negligent driving by the truck driver caused the collision. After the incident, the driver fled with the vehicle. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations to identify and track down the accused.

Concerns Over Highway Safety

The incident has once again highlighted concerns about road safety on high-speed corridors. Despite being designed for controlled traffic, expressways continue to witness accidents due to reckless driving. Experts emphasize the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations, speed monitoring systems, and increased awareness to reduce such incidents.

Impact on the Family and Further Action

The accident has left a family devastated, turning a routine journey into a tragic event. Police have sent the bodies for postmortem and are proceeding with legal formalities. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the absconding driver, with teams monitoring multiple routes and leads.

This accident underscores the urgent need for improved road discipline and enforcement. Preventing such tragedies requires consistent monitoring, strict penalties for violations, and responsible driving behavior across all highways.
