With the Delhi Assembly elections rapidly approaching, the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) has unveiled its manifesto, outlining several key promises aimed at addressing the concerns of the city’s residents. The manifesto, which was released on Wednesday, emphasizes social justice, inclusive governance, and holistic development. Among its most prominent proposals, SBSP has pledged to cap the price of LPG cylinders at Rs 500, aiming to make household essentials more affordable for Delhi’s citizens. The manifesto also promises a significant increase in the widow pension, raising it from Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000, with special provisions for disabled widows.

The SBSP, which has its roots in Uttar Pradesh, is also advocating for the introduction of the Indian Constitution as a mandatory subject in all schools across Delhi. This is part of the party’s broader goal of strengthening civic education and awareness among the city’s younger generation. Another noteworthy proposal in the manifesto is the party’s stance on alcohol consumption, with a strong call for a complete ban on alcohol in the national capital.

In an effort to secure the support of religious communities, SBSP has pledged a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000 for temple priests and mosque maulanas, aiming to provide financial support to those who serve as spiritual leaders. The manifesto was officially unveiled by the party’s national general secretary and former Uttar Pradesh minister Arvind Rajbhar, along with Dharamveer, the Delhi SBSP president. The event was attended by several senior party leaders, including Shakti Singh, Piyush Mishra, Chandresh Pratap Yadav, and Balli Chaudhary.

Speaking at the event, Arvind Rajbhar emphasized the party’s commitment to empowering marginalized communities and providing opportunities for all. “SBSP is here to be the voice of those who have been ignored for too long. Our manifesto is not just a document, it is a promise to the people of Delhi. We are committed to empowering marginalized communities, providing employment for youth, and ensuring quality education and healthcare for all,” he said.

SBSP’s manifesto also outlines a comprehensive approach to governance, with a focus on providing better opportunities for employment, improving public services, and ensuring that Delhi’s marginalized communities are given the attention and support they deserve. Rajbhar stressed that the party’s policies aim to address the most pressing issues faced by ordinary citizens, such as the rising cost of living, access to essential services, and unemployment.

Dharamveer, the Delhi unit chief of SBSP, reinforced the party’s vision of governance that is people-centric and rooted in the struggles of the common people. “Delhi needs leadership that truly understands the struggles of the common people. SBSP is here with a clear vision to make Delhi a place where every citizen has access to better opportunities, improved public services, and a governance system that works for all,” he said.

This marks SBSP’s debut in the Delhi elections, and the party is contesting in three key constituencies: Dharamveer in Janakpuri, Arvind Kumar in Dwarka, and Vinod Chauhan in Matiyara. While the party is relatively new to Delhi politics, its manifesto has set a clear tone for its intent to address both social and economic issues in the city.

As the election date draws closer, the SBSP’s promises are likely to resonate with a large section of the electorate, particularly those who feel marginalized and left out of the political mainstream. The party’s focus on affordable living, social welfare, and empowering the youth positions it as a strong contender in the upcoming elections, with its commitment to inclusive governance and public welfare at the forefront.

With these bold proposals, the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party has set the stage for a fierce electoral battle, and it will be interesting to see how these promises shape voter sentiments in the coming days.
