Noida, April 4, 2026:
The Federation of RWAs of Sector 34 held a meeting with officials of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited at the community center in Sector 34 to address issues being faced by residents following the installation of smart meters, as well as concerns related to uninterrupted power supply.
During the meeting, RWA President K.K. Jain highlighted that residents have been encountering multiple problems after the installation of smart meters in the sector. He pointed out that the electricity department’s mobile application is not functioning properly, causing difficulties for consumers in making timely bill payments. He further demanded that, as was the case earlier, power supply should not be disconnected immediately if the balance turns negative, and a certain permissible limit should be allowed.

RWA General Secretary Dharmendra Sharma raised concerns regarding preparedness for the upcoming summer season. He urged officials to ensure that feeder panels, meter panels, and other power infrastructure are properly maintained and upgraded to avoid disruptions during peak demand. He also suggested that consumers should receive timely message alerts regarding bill payments to prevent inconvenience.

Responding to the concerns, Executive Engineer Mohit Dixit from the power corporation informed that a proposal is under consideration to allow a negative balance limit of up to ₹2000, which would provide relief to consumers. He also assured that necessary work is being carried out to strengthen power infrastructure to ensure smooth and uninterrupted electricity supply.

The meeting witnessed the participation of several key members and officials, including RWA President K.K. Jain, General Secretary Dharmendra Sharma, Executive Engineer Mohit Dixit, Sub-Divisional Officer (Meter) Gaurav, Sub-Divisional Officer (Technical) Kuldeep Yadav, along with J.K. Yachu, Devendra Vats, Bunty Chaudhary, Pradeep Singh, Ved Prakash Mishra, Sanjeev Mahato, and other residents.
The discussion focused on resolving ongoing issues and improving coordination between residents and the power department to ensure better service delivery in the sector.
