Comprehensive development initiatives are being implemented to strengthen infrastructure, healthcare, transport, and civic amenities in Karawal Nagar.
The Minister for Art, Culture, Language & Tourism, Government of Delhi, Shri Kapil Mishra, on Wednesday inaugurated the reconstruction work of Kali Ghata 20-Feet Road and several internal lanes in the Karawal Nagar Assembly constituency. He informed that construction of another important 28-feet-wide road will also commence within the next month.

Shri Kapil Mishra stated that under the vision of “Developed Karawal Nagar,” holistic development of the constituency is being undertaken, and development projects worth approximately ₹300 crore have already been approved. He emphasized that priority is being given to roads, sewerage, healthcare, transport, and public infrastructure.
He announced that public transport services in the constituency will be significantly enhanced, with a threefold increase in bus services. Several new electric buses will be introduced from Karawal Nagar Depot, Bhagat Singh Colony, and Chauhan Patti. In the healthcare sector, a total of 12 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are planned in the constituency, out of which three have already been inaugurated.
To ensure food security for economically weaker sections, the first Atal Canteen in Karawal Nagar will be operational before 20 February. Subsequently, the government aims to establish one Atal Canteen in every ward.
The Minister also informed that a large and well-designed public park will be developed on vacant land belonging to Delhi Police, subject to necessary approvals, and is expected to be completed within 2026. Road construction work in Mukund Vihar will begin shortly, while most lanes in Ankur Enclave have already been completed. The construction and widening of the major Khajuri–Bhajanpura–Dayalpur–Karawal Nagar–Shiv Vihar road will also start soon.
He added that long-pending sewer line projects from the previous government’s tenure will now be completed. Sewer cleaning work has already begun in Khajuri, and the sewer network is expected to become fully operational within three to four months. Renovation of neglected Panchayat Ghars and community halls, along with concrete roads in every lane, will also be undertaken.
Shri Kapil Mishra further stated that in line with the government’s commitment, free LPG cylinder assistance for women on Holi and Diwali has been approved by the Cabinet. Before Holi, on 20 February, the eligible beneficiaries will receive the cylinder amount directly in their bank accounts through DBT. Households using PNG connections will also receive an equivalent financial benefit.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Minister said the Delhi Government is working with the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” to ensure inclusive and balanced development across the capital.
