The Qatari Ambassador condemned Israel’s escalated violence and destruction against Palestinians, accusing the nation of obstructing any prospects for a just and comprehensive peace in the region. She highlighted the targeting of Palestinian civilians by Israeli forces, particularly those suffering from hunger and awaiting humanitarian aid, labeling these actions as heinous crimes and cold-blooded executions.
Calling upon the international community to take urgent action, Dr. Al Muftah urged for effective measures to compel Israel to cease its acts of violence and starvation against Palestinians without fear of accountability. She emphasized the need for the international community to move beyond mere condemnation and take concrete steps to address these unprecedented crimes.
Furthermore, Dr. Al Muftah expressed Qatar’s deep concern over the growing challenges hindering the promotion and protection of human rights globally. She stressed the importance of international cooperation in confronting these challenges, while also warning against politicization, selectivity, and double standards in addressing human rights issues. Dr. Al Muftah underscored the significance of implementing interim measures issued by the International Court of Justice, urging all states to fulfill their responsibilities in this regard.
Expressing dismay over continued religious hate speech and discrimination, Dr. Al Muftah called for stronger measures to prevent such actions and ensure compliance with international obligations. She highlighted the importance of upholding religious freedom and preventing practices that incite violence or restrict religious practices, particularly policies and restrictions that limit religious attire for women and girls.
