District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority Gautam Buddh Nagar, Atul Srivastava, flagged off a publicity vehicle to promote awareness about the upcoming National Lok Adalat in the district. The initiative aims to inform citizens about the benefits of the Lok Adalat and encourage them to resolve their pending disputes through this platform.
The National Lok Adalat will be organized on March 14, 2026, starting at 10:00 am. The Lok Adalat will be conducted at the district headquarters as well as at all tehsil courts in Gautam Buddh Nagar so that a large number of citizens can take advantage of the facility.
District Judge Atul Srivastava stated that the National Lok Adalat is an effective platform to resolve disputes quickly through mutual agreement between the parties. It provides a simple and cost effective mechanism for dispute resolution.
Various types of cases will be taken up during the Lok Adalat. These include cases related to the Motor Accident Compensation Act, matrimonial disputes, matters under the Indian Succession Act, and other civil disputes.
Cases related to the Negotiable Instruments Act and electronic traffic challans will also be considered for settlement. Arbitration matters and petty compoundable cases will also be addressed through mutual compromise.
Additionally, cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, which generally involve cheque bounce disputes, will be taken up for resolution during the Lok Adalat. Matters related to the Electricity Act and land revenue disputes will also be included.
The Lok Adalat will also handle service related disputes, pension matters, labour related cases, and pre litigation cases involving bank loan disputes. Issues related to electricity bills and BSNL telephone bills will also be considered for settlement.
District Judge Atul Srivastava appealed to the residents of the district to take advantage of the National Lok Adalat for quick and convenient settlement of their pending disputes. He urged citizens to approach the concerned courts and present their cases for resolution through mutual settlement.
