Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar:
In an effort to further strengthen law and order and enhance the overall security framework of Noida, a delegation of the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA) held a detailed meeting with Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh. The interaction focused on various issues related to public safety, traffic management and closer coordination between the police administration and resident welfare associations across the city.
During the meeting, the FONRWA delegation highlighted several concerns and suggestions aimed at improving policing at the grassroots level. FONRWA President Yogendra Sharma said that there has been a noticeable improvement in the law-and-order situation in Gautam Buddh Nagar over recent years. He acknowledged the proactive role played by the police in maintaining peace and security and emphasised that RWAs have been consistently extending cooperation to the police department in this regard.
Yogendra Sharma stressed the importance of sustained coordination between RWAs and the police at the local level. He suggested that Station House Officers and police chowki in-charges should remain in regular contact with RWAs in their respective sectors. According to him, such continuous engagement would help in timely sharing of information, early identification of potential issues and faster resolution of residents’ concerns related to safety and security.
Raising traffic and security-related issues, FONRWA General Secretary K K Jain pointed out that the presence of unauthorised carts, hawkers and temporary vendors in various sectors often leads to traffic congestion. He noted that these encroachments not only disrupt the smooth flow of traffic but also create inconvenience for residents, pedestrians and emergency services. Jain further expressed concern that the increased movement of outsiders and unidentified individuals in residential areas heightens the risk of theft and other criminal incidents.
K K Jain emphasised the need for effective and sustained action to address these issues. He suggested that regular enforcement drives against unauthorised vendors and stricter monitoring of suspicious activities would significantly improve the sense of security among residents. He also highlighted the role RWAs can play in assisting the police by sharing local intelligence and alerting authorities about emerging problems in their neighbourhoods.
Responding to the concerns raised by the FONRWA delegation, Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh assured that the police department remains fully committed to maintaining law and order in Noida with utmost vigilance and professionalism. She said that the police force, at all levels, is working with dedication to ensure the safety of residents and to respond promptly to issues affecting public order.
Laxmi Singh described RWAs as the “eyes and ears” of the police, underlining their crucial role in community policing. She said that inputs from RWAs help the police understand ground realities more effectively and enable timely preventive action. The Police Commissioner assured the delegation that issues raised during the meeting would be addressed on priority and that necessary instructions would be issued to the concerned officers to strengthen coordination with RWAs.
She also reiterated that citizen cooperation is a key pillar of effective policing and encouraged RWAs to continue their active engagement with local police units. According to her, regular dialogue between residents and the police helps build trust, enhances responsiveness and contributes to a safer urban environment.
The meeting reflected a shared commitment between the police administration and resident representatives to work collaboratively for improving security and quality of life in Noida. Both sides agreed that sustained communication, timely action and community participation are essential for tackling challenges related to traffic management, unauthorised activities and crime prevention.
Several senior representatives of FONRWA were present during the meeting, including President Yogendra Sharma, General Secretary K K Jain, Senior Vice President Umashankar Sharma, Treasurer Pawan Yadav, Lotusahab Lohia Advocate, Sanjay Chauhan, Shyam Singh Yadav, Omveer Bansal and Koshinder Yadav.
The interaction concluded on a positive note, with both the police administration and FONRWA reaffirming their resolve to work together to ensure that Noida continues to remain a safe, well-managed and secure city for its residents.
