Noida Police has successfully busted a highly organized criminal gang involved in stealing laptops and other valuables from parked cars within just five seconds. The police have arrested three accused identified as Lavish, Ankit, and Rajendra Verma. During the operation, authorities recovered 31 stolen laptops along with portable tools allegedly used to break car windows and carry out quick thefts.
According to police officials, the gang had been active across Noida and other parts of the NCR region for nearly six months. Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused were involved in thefts at around 250 different locations, mainly targeting parked vehicles containing expensive electronic items such as laptops, mobile phones, and bags.
The gang followed a highly organized and fast execution strategy. They would first identify vehicles parked in busy commercial areas such as malls, office complexes, markets, and public parking spaces. Their main focus was on cars where valuables were visible from outside, making them easy targets.
Once a target was selected, the accused used specialized portable glass-breaking tools to quickly shatter car windows. The entire process reportedly took only a few seconds. After breaking into the vehicle, they would immediately grab laptops and other valuables before fleeing the scene. Due to the speed of the operation, victims often realized the theft only after returning to their vehicles much later.
Police officials stated that the gang operated in a coordinated manner and frequently changed locations to avoid detection. They would conduct surveillance in advance, observe parking areas, and then execute thefts with precision timing. Investigators believe the group moved across different parts of Delhi-NCR to avoid getting caught while continuing their criminal activities.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the gang had been active for nearly six months and may have carried out similar thefts in other cities as well. Police are now investigating whether additional members are involved and how the stolen electronic goods were being sold or disposed of in the market.
A major breakthrough in the case came after police analyzed CCTV footage from multiple theft locations. Following several complaints from victims, a special investigation team was formed to identify patterns in the crimes. Surveillance footage from commercial areas helped police track suspicious movements and identify vehicles linked to the accused.
Technical surveillance and intelligence inputs further assisted in narrowing down the suspects. Officials confirmed that the arrested individuals were under observation for some time before they were finally apprehended. Their criminal background is also being verified to check for involvement in previous theft cases.
Police are now working to trace the original owners of the recovered laptops and return the stolen items. Efforts are also underway to identify additional members of the gang and recover more stolen property connected to the network.
Following the arrests, Noida Police has issued an advisory for the public, urging citizens to remain alert while parking their vehicles in public places. People have been advised not to leave laptops, mobile phones, cash, or other valuables visible inside parked cars, especially in crowded areas like malls, markets, and office complexes.
Authorities have also encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activity near parking areas immediately. Police believe that increased awareness, combined with stronger surveillance systems, can significantly reduce such crimes in urban areas.
Further interrogation of the arrested accused is ongoing, and police teams are continuing efforts to dismantle the entire network behind these rapid car theft operations.
