A criminal case has been filed against a schoolteacher and two others in Godhra, Gujarat, for allegedly attempting to assist 6 NEET-UG candidates by promising to solve their papers for ₹10 lakh each. The racket came to light at a Godhra school designated as an exam center for NEET-UG, following a tip-off received by the district collector.
Tushar Bhatt, a physics teacher and deputy superintendent of the exam, along with Parsuram Roy and Arif Vora, were booked in connection with the scam. Police recovered ₹7 lakh in cash from Tushar Bhatt’s car, allegedly paid by Arif Vora as an advance to secure a candidate’s position on the merit list.
According to the FIR, candidates were instructed to leave unanswered questions blank, with the promise that their papers would be solved after collection. Tushar Bhatt, employed at Jay Jalaram School, was appointed deputy center superintendent for NEET in the city.
Authorities seized Tushar Bhatt’s mobile phone, revealing a list of 16 candidates along with their names, roll numbers, and exam centers, sent to him via WhatsApp by co-accused Parsuram Roy. Tushar Bhatt confessed to being promised ₹10 lakh to solve papers for six candidates on the list.
The accused face charges of criminal breach of trust, cheating, and criminal conspiracy. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
