The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the dates for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – Superspecialty 2025. According to the official notification, the NEET-SS will be conducted on March 29 and 30, 2025, across various examination centers throughout India.
The announcement follows the approval of the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) and compliance with a directive from the Supreme Court of India. The decision to hold the examination on these dates was confirmed through the National Medical Commission’s letter dated September 12, 2024, and the Supreme Court’s order from August 14, 2024.
NEET-SS serves as the sole entrance examination for admission into various super specialty medical courses, including DM/MCh and DrNB Super Specialty programs. This examination is crucial for medical professionals seeking to advance their education in these specialized fields. It is mandated under Section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, which stipulates the examination’s role in determining eligibility and ranking for these courses.
The NEET-SS will be the gateway for admission to all DM/MCh courses across the country, encompassing both public and private medical institutions, as well as deemed universities. This includes institutions affiliated with the Armed Forces Medical Services and all DrNB super-specialty courses, with the exception of the direct six-year DrNB courses.
Prospective candidates are advised to refer to the information bulletin for NEET-SS 2024, which will be available on the NBEMS official website. The bulletin will provide comprehensive details on eligibility criteria, fee structure, examination scheme, and other essential information necessary for the examination.
The NEET-SS is a pivotal examination for medical professionals aspiring to pursue advanced specialties, and the announcement of the exam dates provides clarity and preparation time for candidates. As the examination approaches, further updates and detailed guidelines will be released to ensure a smooth and transparent admission process for all eligible candidates.
