Shri Satya Kumar Tiwari, Chief Engineer (Distribution), Noida Zone, held a meeting today with the Managing Director (Electricity/Distribution), Noida, to review the ongoing SCADA and modernization works in the division.
During the discussion, the Chief Engineer highlighted the progress made under the ambitious modernization project and confirmed that land acquisition has been approved by the Noida Development Authority for 19 substations. These include substations of 33/11 kV capacity at sectors such as 63D, 63G, 63J, 63H, 117, 65, New HZDSM, 80 New-AA, Ghansoli, 80C, 140, 138, 124, 126, 16, 108, 132, 8, and 59. Each of these will have 2×10 MVA capacity, marking a major step towards infrastructure expansion in the region.
The Chief Engineer instructed all subordinate officers to expedite preparatory tasks and coordinate closely with the local administration and electricity department to ensure timely land demarcation and availability for construction.
In addition, officials were apprised of the forthcoming Functional Specialization Based System, which will be implemented in the district of Gautam Buddh Nagar from November 15, 2025. This reform is expected to significantly enhance power supply management and customer service efficiency, benefiting over 4–5 lakh electricity consumers in the area.
Under this new structure, the Noida division will operate with eight functional distribution circles and two testing circles, including three 33 kV distribution circles, three 11 kV circles, one commercial circle, one billing circle, one meter/NIB circle, one SCADA circle, one admin circle, and one grid circle.
Officials stated that the new arrangement will improve system efficiency, reduce grievances, and ensure better power supply management. The modernization efforts aim to bring reliability, transparency, and accountability to electricity distribution in the region.
