On the occasion of National Dengue Day, Health Department and Noida Authority conducted extensive awareness campaigns across Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Villages, schools, industrial areas and healthcare centers witnessed special programs aimed at educating people about dengue prevention, sanitation and mosquito control measures. This year’s National Dengue Day theme, “Community Participation Dengue Control: Check, Clean and Cover,” focused on increasing public involvement in disease prevention efforts.
Door-to-Door Inspections and Cleanliness Campaigns Intensified
Health department teams carried out special inspection drives in Barola village and surrounding areas. Around 41 households were inspected during the campaign, and residents were advised not to allow water stagnation near their homes. Officials explained that the Aedes mosquito, responsible for spreading dengue, breeds in clean stagnant water.
Residents were instructed to empty coolers, refrigerator trays, water tanks, drums and bird water containers at least once every week. Anti-larvicide treatment and mobil oil application were also recommended in stagnant water areas to stop mosquito breeding. Posters and pamphlets highlighting “Do’s and Don’ts” related to dengue prevention were distributed extensively during the campaign.
Schools and Industrial Units Join Dengue Prevention Initiative
At Green Field Modern Public School in Barola, students were educated about dengue symptoms, preventive measures and the importance of maintaining hygiene in their surroundings. Teachers and health officials encouraged children to spread awareness within their families and communities.
A major awareness session was also organized at Sahu International Attire Private Limited in Sector-65, Noida, where nearly 350 workers participated. Health officials used posters, handbills and interactive sessions to inform workers about the dangers of dengue and preventive practices. Maintaining cleanliness in workplaces and avoiding water accumulation were highlighted as key preventive measures.
Awareness Campaigns Expanded Across Dadri, Jewar and Bisrakh
Special dengue awareness activities were conducted in Dadri नगर पालिका and नगर पंचायत areas, where employees and local residents attended awareness meetings. Health workers and ASHA volunteers distributed informational material and educated residents about dengue symptoms and preventive actions.
Similar campaigns were carried out at community health centers in Kanigarhi, Jewar and Bisrakh. Rural residents were informed about warning signs such as high fever, headache, body pain and declining platelet count. Officials emphasized the importance of early testing and timely medical treatment to prevent severe complications.
Rallies and Community Participation Take Center Stage
A dengue awareness rally was organized in Dadha village with participation from healthcare workers, ASHA volunteers and local residents. People were encouraged to take cleanliness pledges and actively contribute toward preventing mosquito breeding in their neighborhoods.
Health officials stated that dengue prevention cannot succeed through government efforts alone and requires strong community participation. Continuous awareness drives are being conducted across the district to keep residents alert and ensure better preparedness during the upcoming monsoon season.
