Emergency alert system tested on smartwatches, but some silent mode users missed the alert.
The emergency text message was sent to various devices, including smartwatches. The Apple Watch Ultra received the message with a loud buzzer and vibration. The new alert system is designed to override silent mode on smartphones, but some users who had their phones on silent did not get the alert with a loud sound or vibration. This bug could be fixed in further tests.
Emergency alert system to broadcast real-time information about regional disasters
The government plans to use the alert message system to broadcast information in real emergency situations, such as floods, tsunamis, earthquakes, or landslides. The specific types of emergencies may vary depending on the region.
