Chandigarh, 24 August: BSF and Punjab Police recovered a Chinese drone by conducting a search operation on the Indo-Pak border, which had heroin worth about Rs 21 crore.
According to BSF, drone activity was noticed in Hazare Singh Wala village of Ferozepur on Wednesday night, after which BSF and local police started the operation together.
During a late-night search, a drone was found in the fields of village Hazare Singh Wala. A yellow-coloured packet was also tied to it, which was torn due to the fall of the drone. The large yellow packets contained smaller packets containing the heroin consignment. Its total weight was estimated at 3.4 kg, and its international price is said to be around Rs 21 crore.
At present, the consignment has been sent to the lab for examination. The local police have registered a case and started action. The drone has also been seized and sent for forensic examination.
