Gautam Buddh Nagar, April 4, 2026:
The District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar has instructed LPG and Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) officials to ensure strict compliance with a notification issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas regarding restrictions on holding dual domestic gas connections.
The directive has been communicated to key officials, including the Divisional Head (LPG), IOCL Bhawan, Noida; Territory Manager (LPG), BPCL Loni, Ghaziabad; Deputy General Manager (LPG), HPCL Loni, Ghaziabad; and Head of Department (Projects), IGL, Cooperative Office, G-200, Tower-G, World Trade Center, Sarojini Nagar, Delhi.
The order refers to Gazette notification No. CGDL-A-14032026-270962 issued on March 14, 2026. As per the provisions, individuals are not allowed to hold both a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection and a domestic LPG connection at the same time.
The notification clearly states that any person who currently has both a PNG connection and a domestic LPG connection must surrender the LPG connection with immediate effect. Such individuals will also not be eligible to receive LPG cylinder refills through government oil companies or their authorized distributors.
It has further been clarified that any consumer who already has a PNG connection will not be allowed to apply for or obtain a new domestic LPG connection. They will also not be permitted to avail LPG refill services from any government oil company or its distribution network.
In line with these directions, the district administration has instructed all concerned officials from LPG companies and IGL—including divisional heads, general managers, deputy general managers, and territory managers—to coordinate with each other and take prompt action. The objective is to identify individuals in Gautam Buddh Nagar holding dual connections and ensure compliance with the notification at the earliest.
The initiative aims to streamline gas distribution, prevent misuse of subsidized LPG connections, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
