Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, recently arrested on allegations of spying for Pakistan, was filmed walking through a bustling Lahore market accompanied by armed men, according to a video shared by a Scottish travel vlogger. The footage has stirred significant attention due to the presence of security personnel carrying rifles close to her, raising questions about the nature of her activities in Pakistan and the support she received during her visit. The video sheds light on the ongoing espionage probe involving a network allegedly linked to Pakistan operating in northern India.
Video Reveals Armed Security Detail
The video was captured by Kalum Abroad, a Scottish travel vlogger, during his visit to Lahore’s busy Anarkali Bazaar. In the footage, Kalum points out several men in green uniforms carrying what appear to be AK-47 rifles, a common sight in public areas in Pakistan, according to him. Jyoti Malhotra is then seen entering the frame and briefly engaging in conversation with Kalum. Throughout their interaction, the armed men remain close to her, vigilantly monitoring the surroundings. During the exchange, Jyoti asks Kalum about his impression of Pakistan, to which he responds enthusiastically, “Pakistan Zindabad.” She reciprocates positively and inquires if he has visited India. The vlogger further questions her about Pakistan’s hospitality, and Jyoti expresses that she is enjoying her time there. Afterward, Kalum comments on the heavy security presence around Jyoti, questioning the need for so many armed guards accompanying her.
Ongoing Espionage Investigation and Arrest
Jyoti Malhotra is one of 12 people arrested in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh over the past three weeks on suspicion of espionage activities for Pakistan. Authorities believe these arrests are linked to the unraveling of a spy network operating in northern India with ties to Pakistan. Following her arrest, Jyoti was remanded to judicial custody after completing her police remand. Investigations into the network and the role of those involved are ongoing as security agencies continue to piece together the full scope of the espionage activities.
