Greater Noida, January 11, 2026
As a precautionary measure to ensure safe and clean drinking water across the city, the Greater Noida Authority continued its water quality testing अभियान for the third consecutive day on Sunday. As part of the ongoing drive, water samples were randomly collected and tested at more than 80 locations across over 18 sectors and villages in Greater Noida, officials said.
The large-scale monitoring exercise is being carried out to assess the quality of supplied water and to rule out any contamination in the distribution network. On the third day of the four-day campaign, inspection teams conducted random checks in several key areas, including Delta 1, Delta 2 and Delta 3, Eta 1 and Eta 2, Pi 1, Sector 33, Swarn Nagari, Theta 1, Mu 1, Mu 2 and Mu 3, Sigma, Jaitpur, Sakipur (including 6 percent plots), and various residential societies located in Greater Noida West.
Officials said that the inspection teams are equipped with essential water testing instruments such as TDS meters, pH testing kits and chlorine testing kits. During the inspections conducted on Sunday, the water supplied in the tested areas was found to be within prescribed quality standards across all parameters. The teams also interacted directly with residents at each location to gather feedback regarding water supply and quality. Many residents appreciated the Authority’s proactive approach and welcomed the random testing initiative.

The campaign is being closely monitored by Additional Chief Executive Officers Sunil Kumar Singh and Sumit Yadav, who are overseeing the inspections to ensure effective implementation on the ground. The initiative was launched following directions from Greater Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer N. G. Ravi Kumar, who instructed officials to conduct random water quality checks across different parts of the city as a preventive step.
Acting on the CEO’s instructions, inspections are being carried out under the leadership of General Manager A. K. Singh. A total of eight teams have been constituted on a work-circle basis to conduct the checks simultaneously in different zones. These teams are not only testing water quality but are also carrying out a thorough inspection of water supply infrastructure. This includes checking for leakages in water pipelines, sewer choking or overflow, and any possible cross-connections between drains, sewer lines and drinking water pipelines.

Sunday marked the third day of the four-day special inspection drive. Officials confirmed that Monday, January 12, will be the final day of the random water quality testing campaign. In addition to the Authority’s internal teams, two teams from the Shriram Institute for Industrial Research laboratory have also been deployed to independently conduct random water quality tests at selected locations. The involvement of an external laboratory is aimed at ensuring additional accuracy and transparency in the testing process.
Speaking on the initiative, Additional CEO Sunil Kumar Singh said that the Greater Noida Authority remains fully committed to providing safe and clean drinking water to residents across the Greater Noida area. He added that even after the completion of the four-day special drive, continuous efforts will be made to maintain water quality standards and address any issues that may arise in the future.

“The Authority is committed to uninterrupted and clean water supply in Greater Noida. Even after the completion of this four-day campaign, regular monitoring and corrective measures will continue to ensure that water quality remains within prescribed norms,” Singh said.
Meanwhile, the Authority has also appealed to residents to promptly report any instance of contaminated or discoloured water supply in their areas. For immediate assistance, residents can contact the Water Department by calling the Senior Manager (Water) at 9205691408 or the Manager (Water) at 8937024017. Officials assured that upon receiving such information, the Authority’s teams will take swift action to identify and rectify the issue.
The ongoing campaign is part of the Greater Noida Authority’s broader efforts to strengthen civic services, enhance public confidence, and ensure that essential utilities such as drinking water meet the highest quality and safety standards across the city.
