Greater Noida, January 12, 2026
The Greater Noida Authority on Monday concluded its four-day precautionary campaign aimed at checking the quality of drinking water across sectors and villages in the Greater Noida area. While the special inspection drive has ended, authority officials have reiterated that efforts to ensure the supply of clean and safe drinking water will continue on a regular basis.
On the final day of the campaign, eight inspection teams carried out random water quality checks at more than 120 locations across over 23 sectors and villages. These included Sadopur, Baidpura, Saini, Sunpura, Pali, Milak Lachhi, Sector Gamma 1 and 2, Delta-1, Alpha 1 and 2, Omicron 1, 2 and 3, and several housing societies in Greater Noida West. The inspections were conducted as part of a broader initiative to reassure residents about the safety of the water supply following complaints of contaminated water in some areas.

The inspection teams were equipped with water testing tools such as TDS meters, pH testing kits and chlorine testing kits. According to officials, water samples tested on-site met all prescribed quality standards. In addition to the on-spot checks, teams from Shriram Laboratory also collected water samples from the same locations for detailed analysis. These laboratory test reports will be submitted to the Greater Noida Authority for further review.
During the inspections, teams also interacted with local residents and collected feedback regarding water quality and supply. Many residents appreciated the initiative, noting that such random inspections help build confidence in the authority’s water management system. Several residents specifically praised the decision taken by Greater Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer N.G. Ravi Kumar to initiate the random inspection drive as a preventive measure.

Authority officials clarified that although the four-day special drive has concluded, routine monitoring of water quality will remain an ongoing process. Any complaint related to contaminated or discoloured water will be addressed on priority, and corrective measures will be taken without delay.
Apart from the field inspections conducted by the teams, Additional Chief Executive Officer Sumit Yadav carried out a surprise inspection of the Ganga Water Treatment Plant located at Palla and the Master Reservoir at Jaitpur on Monday. During the visit, water quality checks were conducted, and the test reports of Ganga water were also found to be within prescribed standards. Following the inspection, the Additional CEO instructed the water department to ensure regular testing of Ganga water to maintain consistent quality.

Officials said the four-day campaign was launched after complaints of contaminated water were received from certain localities. Acting on these concerns, CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar directed the authority to conduct random water quality inspections across sectors, villages and housing societies. As part of this directive, eight teams were constituted to carry out extensive checks over four days.
Under the supervision of General Manager A.K. Singh, the inspection teams also examined water supply infrastructure in detail. This included checking for any leakage in water pipelines, sewer blockages, overflow issues, and possible cross-connections between drains, sewer lines and drinking water pipelines. Officials said no major irregularities were found during the inspections, and wherever minor issues were noticed, immediate instructions were issued for rectification.

Reiterating the authority’s commitment, Additional Chief Executive Officer Sunil Kumar Singh said that the Greater Noida Authority remains fully dedicated to ensuring uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water across the Greater Noida area. He said that while the special inspection drive has ended, continuous efforts will be made to maintain water quality standards.
He appealed to residents to promptly inform the authority’s water department if they notice any instance of contaminated water supply. For this purpose, contact numbers of Senior Manager (Water) at 9205691408 and Manager (Water) at 8937024017 have been issued. He assured that upon receiving information, authority teams would take swift action to resolve the issue.
The conclusion of the inspection drive has brought relief to many residents, with authority officials expressing confidence that consistent monitoring and quick response mechanisms will help prevent water quality issues in the future.
