In view of the upcoming Holi festival, the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department of Gautam Buddh Nagar has intensified its enforcement drive to ensure the availability of safe and hygienic food products for residents. Acting on the directions of the District Magistrate, officials conducted inspections and collected food samples from various establishments for laboratory testing.
Assistant Commissioner Food-II Sarvesh Mishra informed that late on the night of 26/27 February, a joint team of Food Safety Officers O P Singh and Ravindra Nath Verma, along with police personnel, intercepted a vehicle at Yamuna Expressway, Jewar Toll Plaza. The vehicle bearing registration number UP 83DT1138 was transporting paneer from Hori Lal Dairy located in Fatehabad, Agra, to Shuddh Garhwal Dairy in Paharganj, New Delhi.

During preliminary inspection, the paneer was found to have a bitter taste, raising suspicion of adulteration and improper storage conditions. One sample was collected for laboratory analysis, and approximately 650 kilograms of paneer were destroyed on the spot to prevent distribution.
In another action, the team of Ravindra Nath Verma and S K Pandey collected one sample of mustard oil from Ganpat Traders located on Tappal Road, Jewar. The same team also collected one sample of namkeen from B K S Traders in Gijhod, Sector 53.

Additionally, a team led by Food Safety Officers Vishal Kumar Gupta and Syed Ibadullah collected one sample of mustard oil from Sugan Agro Foods in Dadri. In total, four samples were collected and sent to the laboratory for detailed examination.
The Assistant Commissioner stated that such inspection drives will continue under the supervision of the District Magistrate to ensure that citizens receive food items that meet prescribed safety and quality standards during the festive season. Strict action will be taken against those found violating food safety norms.
